Walking on the old and narrow streets of a medieval town is an adventure in itself, a truly interesting one. Even the sound of the town is dimmed to a faint buzz. Venice is not heard here.

The almost touching walls of the houses, the narrow band of sky light above one's head, sometimes seem a bit weird. These lanes (actual footpaths sometimes going one way only) are very often devoid of human. One may get an eerie feeling at times.In certain places one feels like entering a spider lair, with its meandered ways; certainly not for the claustrophobic persons.
